2025 was a busy year for the 5th Circuit. The court ruled on cases that resulted in serious implications for employers on policies related to religious discrimination and accommodations, FMLA retaliation, disability discrimination, and the FLSA Exemptions. Some of those rulings were surprising and took the court outside of standard precedents, and other cases were exactly in line with this conservative court’s rulings. As Louisiana is in the 5th circuit, these cases are important for Louisiana employers to know and understand. This Perk will focus on the cases and provide guidance to employers about the current law and how they should update their policies and practices to be in line with current precedents.
