Dr. Tranell E. Barton, a distinguished educator and native of New Orleans, was reared in an

environment where education was valued and lived, with family members deeply entrenched in

the field. Since 2019, Dr. Barton has enriched the academic community as an adjunct faculty

member at Delgado, where she imparts her expertise in Real Estate, Business Administration,

and Adult Basic Education. Her extensive career in learning and development spans over a

decade. It includes a remarkable 22-year tenure with the New Orleans Metropolitan Association

of REALTORS®, where she served as Governmental Affairs Coordinator and Sr. Professional

Development Trainer.

Dr. Barton's educational achievements are a testament to her unwavering commitment to

personal and professional growth. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from

Grambling State University ('95), a Master of Business Administration from the University of

Phoenix ('07), and culminated her academic journey with a Master of Educational Leadership

and a Doctor of Educational Leadership and Administration ('20). Her dedication to continuous

improvement is further evidenced by her Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion certifications as a

Certified Distance Educator Instructor with the International Distance Education Certification

Center (IDECC), a Google Certified Educator Level 1, and a Certified Trainer with the Louisiana

Real Estate Commission.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Barton's professional contributions are diverse and impactful. She has

served as a Learning and Development Trainer/Talent Management Consultant at LSU Health

Science Center, Adjunct Faculty at ITT Technical Institute, and Broadcast Production Supervisor

at WPXL-TV Channel 49. Her expertise has been sought after and shared at prestigious

conferences such as the Louisiana Association of Public, Community, and Mountain Plains

Adult Education Conference, National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development

Conference, and Disrupt HR NOLA.

Dr. Barton's commitment to community and service is as profound as her professional

dedication. She serves as Vice President of the Grambling University National Alumni

Association Crescent City Chapter. She is actively involved in the Coalition on Adult Basic

Education, the Independent Women's Organization, and the Junior League of New Orleans. Her

leadership extends to her role as an honorary Metro Center for Community Affairs board

member and an active Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative board member. Dr.

Barton's involvement in her church as a youth counselor, program administrator, and scholarship

committee member further demonstrates her dedication to community service and youth

development.

Driven by a passion for lifelong learning and community empowerment, Dr. Barton has

participated in esteemed fellowship programs with the Loyola University of New Orleans

Institute of Politics and the Urban League of Greater New Orleans ULEAD Program. In her

time, Dr. Barton enjoys reading, shopping, traveling, and cherishing moments with loved ones.

Her mission is to share knowledge that enhances the lives of others, embodying a dedication to

making life experiences more productive and enriching.
