Managing Change: The Only Thing We Can't Count On

• “The Only Constant in Life Is Change.”   Although this may sound like the perfect meme to describe the economic, health, political, lifestyle, workforce and other changes we have all shared in the last couple of years, it was actually uttered by the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus around 500 BC.  So, as an organizational leader, whether you’re dealing with a planned initiative or just your routine, unforeseen crisis, change is inevitable so what’s the big deal?  Aren’t we all dealing with the increased costs, decreased productivity, stress, confusion, and fatigue that comes with overwhelming instability?  

  Maybe, but we don’t have to…

  In fact, a 2002 McKinsey study revealed that companies with outstanding change management practices gained an average of 143% of the returns they initially expected.  During our interactive discussion, we will explore how you can use even the most basic change management tools to prepare for the hazards of change.

  At the end of the session, you will be prepared to:

• Articulate the need for managing change
• Distinguish Change Management truth from paralyzing assumptions
• Recognize the role of leadership during a time of change
• Pinpoint multiple change management strategies available to address change with your organization.

• As the Principal Consultant at Mosaic Approach, LLC, Tracey McDade, MS, is a performance improvement professional with over 20 years as both an in-house and external consultant for a variety of commercial and non-profit organizations around the country.
• She has designed and managed a full range of enterprise-wide performance improvement projects in such areas as performance model development and replication, strategic planning, procedure development, change management, leadership development, communication, performance management, diversity & inclusion, team-building, onboarding and others
• A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Tracey now lives right across the Mississippi River from the French Quarter with her husband, 2 children and 3 rescue dogs.
