I am Damona Barnes and I am honored to be serving the NOLA SHRM membership as the 2021 President. We are looking for new board members and would be thrilled to have you as part of our team!
Having members who are both willing and excited to serve their fellow members as volunteer leaders has always been critical to our success and growth as a SHRM chapter and to our individual growth as HR professionals. Serving on the Board allows you unique opportunities to lead, influence, network and develop competencies that may not be available in your current HR role. Additionally, HRCI and SHRM recertification credit is available to individuals who serve on their local SHRM affiliate’s Board.
If you are committed to your HR profession, willing to work on a team that shares that commitment while making it fun, and supported by your employer in that commitment, why not consider a Board role in 2021? To learn more about each position click on the link below.
Board Member positions require attendance at our monthly Board meetings which are the first Monday of each month from 5:30-7:00pm. Additionally, they will require varying amounts of extra time depending upon the project or time of year. Committee members generally require much less of a time commitment and do not attend board meetings.

Nominations/Interest need to be submitted by July 31st, 2020. The committee will shortly thereafter evaluate the nominations with the goal of providing a slate to the membership in August.
