Speaker Bio:
Amy Bakay, SHRM-SCP, is a self-proclaimed “HR-Geek” and founder and CEO of HR NOLA, a New Orleans-based HR Consulting and Outsourcing firm. She started HR NOLA after identifying a necessity for tailored Human Resources solutions for small businesses. When she isn't teaching the employee life cycle at Tulane Law School, she serves on the Nola Shrm Board and is a frequent speaker and advocate for Human Resources and Women's Leadership initiatives.

During our October meeting we have two important chapter business items that will take place. We will be voting on our 2020 NOLA SHRM Board of Directors and ratifying our updated bylaws.
2020 Board of Directors
The NOLA SHRM Nomination Committee, as appointed by Myndi Savoy, 2019 NOLA SHRM President, and in accordance with our bylaws, is proud to present below for review the full slate of Nominees for the 2020 NOLA SHRM Board of Directors. This slate will be presented for a vote at our October General Meeting on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Please review the slate in advance of the meeting on Wednesday, October 16th. As provided in our bylaws, nominations may also be taken from the floor on that date. We look forward to the opportunity for each of you as NOLA SHRM members to cast your vote for the 2019 Board. You must be present to vote and/or present a nomination from the floor.

Updated Bylaws
A revision of the NOLA SHRM Bylaws consists of 4 slight changes to update when we hold our annual meeting and elections. The following changes have been made:
- Section 5.02 - shall be held in November has been changed to shall be held prior to November 1st
- Section 6.05 - November meeting has been changed to annual meeting in 2 places
- Section 6.06 - November meeting has been changed to annual meeting
SHRM has approved the revised bylaws, now the membership must vote to ratify the bylaws before they can go into effect. You may review the updated NOLA SHRM Bylaws here.
